Need help with speaker short?
Hello all
In my car i run duel amplifiers, one for subs and one for front and rear speakers.
Recently, my amp running to my front and rear speakers lit up indicating that there is a short of some sort in the wiring. I talked to someone at a local car audio store and he told me this could also mean something is wrong with the speakers. Well i need help with locating the short.
I am not that fluent with wiring and a digital multimeter, but i borrowed one from a friend. The multimeter has a ton of different settings and to me, it looks like gibberish…
I also have something else he gave me, but i don’t know what it’s called. It looks like a screwdriver and when you complete a current, it lights up in the middle. (i.e. you touch both ends.) Thanks for any help in advance!
EDIT: i don’t think a speaker is blown, i’m pretty convinced that it has something to do with the wiring. None of the speakers are getting power.
EDIT AGAIN: by the way, i did the 1.5v battery thing, (connect the speaker wires to a 1.5v battery) and i got feedback from each of them, if that makes a difference.
